Yeastar recently announced a P-Series firmware update, delivering all-new cutting-edge features for its flagship IP PBX series. This release marks the first step forward in AI-driven business communications, and includes an all-new call flow designer, text-to-speech capabilities, smart call summaries, voicemail transcription, and more.

This article explores the must-know information about this update for resellers and customers alike.

Yeastar’s commitment to resellers and customers

Yeastar has been consistently innovating by expanding the P-Series feature set to align with evolving market trends and partner requirements. New and innovative capabilities are incorporated into this firmware update within existing subscription plans, so there is no additional cost for these newly available features. This fact emphasizes Yeastar’s commitment to providing value to its partners, resellers, and customers.

What’s new with Yeastar P-Series V20.3

This new firmware update includes an impressive array of improvements and new capabilities. These are listed below.

Call flow designer

The call flow designer (CFD) feature is a new capability that allows users to design complex call flows visually. It features a user-friendly graphical user interface with drag-and-drop capabilities, allowing custom inbound call workflows to be developed without complex scripting or coding. It is ideal for businesses that want to create their own automated call handling without needing in-depth coding skills.

CFD provides preconfigured building blocks for some of the most common call flow behaviors as well as advanced control elements like conditions, loops, and other variables that affect call flows. This lets you create, modify, and maintain complex call routes more easily and flexibly.

This feature allows for one-click setups, importing call flow files, and developer-friendly manual configurations. This flexibility means that CFD is not just for non-technical users; it can also be powerfully leveraged by more tech-savvy developers and resellers wishing to efficiently apply batch configurations across multiple client systems with minimal effort.

AI-driven text to speech

Yeastar’s AI-driven text-to-speech (TTS) feature allows you to easily create highly customizable voice recordings simply by typing the text you want to be announced. Using advanced AI models, TTS offers a selection of realistic, human-like voices to choose from, supporting multiple languages and even regional accents. Speech rates, volume, and pitch can be adjusted and previewed to ensure that the selected audio matches the desired tone and style before implementing.

The AI-driven TTS feature can be used in IVR menus, holiday messages, appointment reminders, automated outbound calls to users, queue and ring group greetings, and integrated prompts as part of your CFD configuration.

Voicemail transcription

Let’s be honest: Voicemail feels a bit stuck in the early 2000s, as the younger generation might say. Still, it remains a common tool, and many callers expect to have that option available when a call goes unanswered. To make it more user-friendly, voicemail transcription offers a convenient solution. Instead of listening to each message individually, you can quickly read your voicemails as text messages or emails, saving time and making it easier to keep up with your communications. It also lets you sneak a peek at your voicemails during meetings, which is much easier to get away with than holding your phone to your ear and nodding like it’s part of the agenda!

Yeastar’s new advanced voicemail transcription feature provides native support for transcription without the need to integrate an external application via API. As long as the AI transcription feature is active, enabled telephone extensions can enjoy having incoming voicemails automatically transcribed and even translated into their chosen language.

Call transcription and AI summary

An exciting feature scheduled for release in September 2025 enables real-time call transcription and AI-powered summaries for both voice and video calls. This powerful tool eliminates the need for manual note-taking by instantly converting conversations into clear, searchable transcripts and concise action-oriented summaries.

Because of its seamless integration into the P-series system, every call becomes a source of actionable insights, improving productivity, accountability, and collaboration without adding administrative overhead.

Additional enhancements

Additional enhancements included in the new firmware for the P-Series IP PBXs include:

  • Enhanced call queues: Call queues have been improved based on feedback received from actual callers, making call handling smoother and more efficient. Agents can now quickly log back into the last queue they logged into, and admins can set dynamic agents’ status to “Logged In” by default. Call disposition for calls from the same caller in the same queue can also be automatically synced, improving information flow and preventing duplicate handling.
  • Filter number: This feature automatically removes all special characters, except numerals and the “+,” “*,” and “#” characters from dialed numbers before sending the call to the trunk. This allows you to seamlessly handle different number formats that may be synchronized from CRM, LDAP, or other external databases. It helps guarantee accurate dialing regardless of the number format being used.

Additional optimizations

Beyond the enhancements listed above, this firmware has also optimized several features, including the following:

  • Auto-provisioning for Cisco SPA IP phones is now supported, and the software and appliance editions can provision them remotely.
  • Linkus/CarPlay integration is supported.
  • Logging in and logging out of all queues is now possible with a feature code.
  • The call forwarding destination of a particular extension can be changed using a feature code.
  • HTML editing is available for email templates.
  • Bulk deletion of company and personal contacts is supported.
