YCM is a cloud-based centralized management system for Yeastar applications and devices. YCM supports hosted UCaaS delivery, software, and device management.

Last year, we had the opportunity to explore with you some of YCM's benefits and value points. Since then, YCM has expanded its capabilities to include support for additional products and services, including Yeastar’s P-Series UCaaS offering.

Hosted UCaaS delivery

YCM powers hosted PBX deployments, including the Yeastar P-Series UCaaS system, enabling service providers to scale their offerings efficiently and with little to no hassle. With YCM, you can create and deliver cloud PBXs in seconds with carrier-grade reliability and security.

The same system used for provisioning UCaaS deployments is also leveraged to monitor resource usage and to instantaneously adjust capacity, all with just a few clicks and keystrokes. As a reseller, you can now spend less time on maintenance and upkeep and enjoy higher returns.

YCM's hosted UCaaS support includes some new supported features. These include:

  • Trunk sharing: This new feature allows a cloud-based PBX to share an FXO trunk for outgoing and incoming calls.

  • Over 30 alarm types: Proactive monitoring means that you’ll be instantly alerted to critical issues even before your customers notice them.

Additional management tools

YCM offers a rich suite of tools beyond core UCaaS functionality and software and device management services. These additional tools empower service providers with intelligent insights and highly granular control for streamlined operations and better customer service.

Here’s a few of them:

  • A widget-based dynamic dashboard displays a real-time overview of all managed PBXs, including PBX status, device status, alarm trends, task states, and more. It is highly customizable to help prioritize views of critical information and active issues.
  • A dedicated alarm function, where alert thresholds and notification settings can be customized to help avoid alarm fatigue, making sure that only truly critical events trigger a notification.
  • Provisioning templates help automate basic PBX configurations. This accelerates customer onboarding and ensures the shortest possible time between service requests and service activation. It also helps maintain consistency across large-scale rollouts.
  • A centralized repository for configuration files and firmware images helps with structured version control. Firmware and configuration files can be backed up and restored as needed, further streamlining redeployment and disaster recovery.
  • Shared admin access supports collaborative administration with role-based access control. Team members can comanage customer devices and services, facilitating secure, well-coordinated teamwork for managing service environments.

These and a whole series of additional high-tech and advanced features make the YCM a vital part of systems and services deployment for service providers of all types.

Factors influencing YCM's scalability

Several factors influence how many PBX deployments Yeastar Central Management (YCM) can effectively support. One of the most important is the underlying hosting infrastructure. YCM can be used with Yeastar’s own cloud environment, which offers a turnkey solution with built-in high availability and global distribution. Alternatively, partners may choose to host PBX instances on their own infrastructure, which allows for greater customization and control, though it requires careful resource planning.

Another key factor is the subscription plan in use. Yeastar offers different tiers – such as the Enterprise and Ultimate plans – each with its own limits and capabilities. For example, the Ultimate Plan supports PBX instances with up to 500 extensions, making it better suited for larger, high-density deployments.

The system resources allocated to the deployment environment also play a major role. Whether hosted in the cloud or on-premises, the servers or virtual machines running the PBX instances must be provisioned with sufficient CPU, memory, and storage to handle the intended workload across all instances.

Finally, network quality is essential. Sufficient bandwidth and a stable internet connection are necessary to maintain performance and ensure real-time synchronization across managed systems.
