On August 15, Yealink hosted a live seminar titled "Unveiling Cost-Effective Outstanding Meetings," where the spotlight was on the impressive Yealink MeetingBoard series. In this article, we explore the key highlights of this product line, as presented during the webinar.

Yealink MeetingBoard's current and predicted market status

According to Gallup, 53% of employees with remote-capable U.S. jobs work in a hybrid office environment. Similarly, according to Precedence Research, the global video conferencing market is expected to have a compound annual growth rate of 12.5% between 2024 and 2033.

However, studies have shown that only about 20% of meeting rooms in North American businesses and institutions have video conferencing capabilities!

These statistics highlight why investing in high-quality videoconferencing systems like the MeetingBoard series is a smart choice. The projected growth in demand, coupled with the current inadequacies in meeting room technology, makes these systems a lucrative investment.

Yealink MeetingBoard all-in-one device demand

Yealink sells a wide range of video conferencing equipment. However, the MeetingBoard products are all-in-one solutions containing all the necessary components for a full-fledged video conference without additional peripherals.

The all-in-one market share of Yealink products was 0% in 2022, but in 2023, there was an increase in market share to 9% and then 18% in 2024. And the current year is not yet over! As you can see from the following diagram, this trend is only expected to increase over the next few years.

So, why are we seeing such a rapid increase in demand for all-in-one videoconferencing devices? There are several reasons for this, and they primarily focus on the following three points:

  • Limited budgets: All-in-one solutions tend to be less expensive to procure and use in the long run than assembling systems from discrete components.
  • Deployment simplicity: These solutions are plug-and-play and have little or no complexity.
  • Lack of ICT staff: These devices don't require specialized personnel to deploy, maintain, and operate them.

These points are further elaborated upon in the following sections.

Limited budgets

Creating a system from scratch simply costs more than a good all-in-one solution. In today's era of stretched budgets, using a properly integrated product is an easy way to save money.

But the benefits go beyond that with Yealink. As stated by the presenters, Yealink typically provides a higher margin for resellers than its competitors: around 25% on average, excluding any additional promotions or offers.

The company also delivers lower end-user prices, typically around 30% less costly on average. In the long run, the reseller margins and end-user savings tend to be better for the MeetingBoard series than other all-in-one systems and systems made from discrete components.

Deployment simplicity

Many systems are so complex to deploy that installation requires specialized expertise. In contrast, MeetingBoard systems offer an efficient and streamlined solution that can be up and running in just 12 minutes.

The presenters showcased this in an unboxing video, clearly demonstrating just how quick and easy it is to set up these devices.

If you follow along closely, you will notice that 10 of those 12 minutes were used to assemble the floor stand — the device's setup took just two minutes! Even more impressive is the minimal cables required, making the deployment process remarkably simple and clutter-free.

Lack of ICT staff

This can be an obstacle for many organizations and businesses in creating and maintaining a video-conferencing-enabled meeting room, especially in scenarios where cameras must pan and zoom to multiple speakers and participants.

Yealink's MeetingBoards eliminate the need for ICT personnel to be present to take care of these manipulations of the video feed.

Intelligent AI-powered functions can automatically adjust audio and video characteristics as needed. Such features include the following:

  • Auto-framing ensures that all participants are automatically framed within the field of view while eliminating large empty spaces without people.
  • Speaker tracking automatically zooms in and focuses on the person speaking. As the speaker changes, so does the pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) of the camera to focus on the new speaker.
  • AI noise cancellation ensures only human voices are transmitted while other, potentially distracting, ambient sounds are filtered out.

The presenters demonstrate these features on the webinar feed itself, essentially showcasing how these work in real life. In addition, it is notable that even from 20 feet (6 m) away, the presenter was still seen and heard with impeccable quality.

In addition, seamless integration with either Microsoft Teams or Zoom Rooms provides a familiar interface for users, ensuring ease of use without needing experts. This allows users to take advantage of the meeting scheduling capabilities of these platforms as well as many other easy-to-use functionalities.

MeetingBoard promotion

The webinar also provided detailed information about the MeetingBoard rewards program and the benefits available to resellers. These savings, which vary depending on whether the MB65 or MB86 model is selected, are available until the end of 2024. Overall, the savings are significant and offer resellers a valuable opportunity to maximize their advantage. Contact your TeleDynamics rep for details.

Security concerns

The final portion of the webinar focused on various industry certifications for security, highlighting the level of importance that Yealink places on safeguarding its users. The Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) was especially emphasized, a platform that Yealink will soon employ in its software and equipment, in cooperation with Microsoft.

Yealink built MDEP on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and designed it to be extensible and customizable for hardware and software solutions.

MDEP will essentially enable Yealink to leverage a secure and reliable platform with integrated services while still allowing them to customize the system's operational layers.

This flexibility will ensure that Yealink can deliver devices that embody their unique value to customers while maintaining certified industry-standard security levels backed by the solid reputation of Microsoft in these areas.

Conclusion

This live Yealink webinar started by delivering a comprehensive overview of the current trends related to the demand for video conferencing systems and the specialized niche that all-in-one systems occupy.

The presenters provided a comprehensive overview of the MeetingBoard product line, showcasing its innovative features and ease of deployment. The emphasis on easy-to-use, high-quality video conferencing solutions, coupled with the significant savings offered through the rewards program, highlights the value these products bring to businesses navigating the evolving hybrid work environment.

The MeetingBoard series is a versatile and efficient solution, addressing the current gaps in meeting room technology while delivering on Yealink's promise of simplicity and effectiveness.

As the demand for reliable video conferencing continues to grow, the MeetingBoard products are well-positioned to meet the needs of both resellers and end users, making them a smart investment for the future.
