Panasonic has introduced the KX-TGP600 cordless telephony base station plus handset package, offering all of the benefits of DECT and SIP technologies in a sleek, elegant and turnkey solution, for an incredibly affordable price. Requiring only an internet connection and a subscription to an online SIP provider, your SMB can be up and running with a telecom system within minutes.

Beneficial for business

SMBs need to focus their time and resources on their core competencies. The KX-TGP600 base station supports this by requiring little or no additional infrastructure or configurations.

Among the most impressive features of the KX-TGP600 base station is its capacity. A single base station can support up to eight cordless or desktop DECT phones and up to eight concurrent conversations, plus two multiparty conferences. Furthermore, each telephony device can support up to eight separate lines. Thus, with a single base station, eight employees can experience high-capacity telephony services with minimal wiring and maximum mobility.

If the base station’s range of several hundred feet is insufficient, you can always increase coverage by installing up to six additional repeaters, vastly expanding the available coverage area.

Additional useful features include the support of both narrowband (G.711/G.729a) and wideband (G.722/G.722.2) codecs, secure voice transmission, and support for dual IPv4/IPv6  in the event the business is in the process of transitioning its network.

Impressive capabilities with low infrastructure requirements

The KX-TGP600 base station is compatible with several different Panasonic DECT phones, to meet varying customer needs. The base station comes with the sleekly designed KX-TPA60 handset, featuring an impressive 1.8-inch 65K color TFT display with up to 500 local phonebook entries and over 200 hours of standby battery time. The base station is also compatible with the KX-TPA65 cordless desk phone, the pocket-sized KX-UDT121 cordless DECT handset, and the ruggedized KX-UDT131 cordless DECT handset, offering a wide range of capabilities and features for multiple employee roles and environments.

Whereas many SIP phones require an on-site IP PBX, the SIP phones supported by the KX-TGP600 can register directly to an ITSP provider on the internet, requiring little or no local infrastructure beyond a simple internet connection. If a local SIP server does exist, these phones can easily be integrated into an internal short code dialing plan and can take advantage of all of the traditional telephony and more advanced SIP features supplied by that server.

One of the most impressive characteristics of the KX-TGP600 is its value for money. Rarely will you find such a feature-rich system for such a reasonable cost, and this very fact will often be the clincher in the procurement decision-making process.
