The family of endpoints includes the GXP1760, GXP1780 and GXP1782 models
Telecommunications infrastructure can be one of the biggest costs for a small- to medium-sized company, so it’s critical to find a solution that strikes the right balance between value and cost, while at the same time ensuring scalability so the system can grow along with the business.
IP phones often comprise the bulk of the cost of a business telephone system, so choosing the right endpoints is an important part of the functionality-cost ratio. Developed specifically with growing businesses in mind, Grandstream’s mid-range GXP17xx series IP phones achieve this balance remarkably well.

Are you hearing both sides?

The very technology that makes VoIP so efficient can also indirectly cause one-way audio issues.
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), indicating that the communication travels over the internet in little packets using RTP (Real-Time Transport Protocol). Since the packets are traveling through the internet, they must pass through firewalls and network address translation (NAT). Due to the tricky nature of firewalls, a common complaint of customers and installers alike is that either the caller or callee cannot hear the other party. Although this is a common inquiry and topic for support tickets, it is also rather easy to fix.

Sneak preview of new enhancements coming later this year
By Kate Clavet, Marketing Specialist, Grandstream Networks
It’s becoming imperative for any business to have tools available that not only enhance their internal communication but also keep their customers coming back. With so little face time (thanks to the internet), a customer’s experience is increasingly important. Grandstream’s UCM IP PBX series is a practical way to manage your communication without compromising on features or emptying your wallet. After all, we’re always striving to improve our customer’s experience and, by extension, yours.
To maintain a high level of service, there must be tools in place that highlight efficiency and collect data so that customer service, lead follow-up, etc. can be measured. Without metrics and data for evaluation, maintaining a positive customer experience is nearly impossible. Grandstream wants to make that easier for you. In the second and third quarters of 2017, a lot of enhancements are coming your way.

Advanced apps ranging from Pomodoro Technique Timer to more obvious solutions provided by Google Calendar will make workers in any industry more productive as they perform phone call campaigns and meetings with one device instead of two. The versatility that the Android platform provides is a huge differentiator that separates these phones from a typical IP phone.
Here we look at five SIP endpoints from Grandstream and Ubiquiti that use Android OS.

Part 2 of 2 in a series on video conferencing
Last week, we looked at room-installed video conferencing systems. In this article, we look at video phones – and we’re not referring to a Beyoncé song, but rather SIP (session initiation protocol) endpoints that give users video-conferencing capability from their desktop. Here we offer a comparison between the Grandstream GXV3240 and GXV3275, and the Yealink T49G.
Note: Yealink and Grandstream have introduced additional video phones since this article was published. To read about the latest products, click on Yealink or Grandstream in the Topic list to the right.
